Plantar Fasciitis has few but very specific symptoms. It is very easy to diagnose, however sometimes can be misdiagnosed as a stress fracture, tarsal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis or the wearing away of the heel pad.
Mainly, plantar fasciitis symptoms show as pain in the heel on the inner side of the foot. This pain is most evident in the morning when just getting out of bed or after prolonged sitting. When first getting up, the pain will be worse but after a few steps, the pain will lessen. This happens because during non-use the plantar fascia tissue will contract and become stiff. Once you begin to walk on the foot the plantar fascia begin to stretch out and loosen.
Pain can also rear its ugly head after a prolonged time of standing or walking.
Plantar fasciitis is sometimes associated with weight gain. It is also sometimes seen in runners. It is thought that the repetitive nature of the sport causes the damage to the tissue that forms the arch of the foot.
So what’s the best way to relive your plantar fasciitis symptoms? Check out this video to learn about some plantar fasciitis exercises that will reduce, and over time, eliminate your pain.

Hi Pam,
Thank you for visiting my blog. Now I’m certain I have plantar fasciitis after reading this article. I will be looking around and reading your blog because I know I will learn more about it.
Since I haven’t dug deeper into your blog, do you know if it’s recurring and how it can be prevented?
Thanks for a great resource.
