custom foot orthoticsCustom foot orthotics are probably one of the most recommended therapies for people who have problematic feet. Othotics are used to manipulate the alignment of your foot. There are several types of foot orthotics available. They range from the commercially available shoe inserts, insoles and heel cups.

The most recommended ones are the custom made orthotics. This type of foot orthotic is custom made to each individuals own foot. A foamĀ or cast impression of the foot is taken by the doctor and is sent to a lab along with special instructions about your feet, gait and pronation.

Just the other day, I went to a podiatrist to see what he thought about my feet and plantar fasciitis problem since it has not been getting much better. After watching me walk and hearing about my prior xray results he recommended custom made orthotics.

I decided to take his recommendation and plunge. Custom orthotics can be very expensive. So he proceeded to make a mold of my feet. Now I am waiting for them to be made. Cant wait to feel the results, which of course I will report on.

Have you used custom foot orthotics? What has your experience been? Comment below.
